about

The Street Heat Riddim featuring Roots, Reggae, Dancehall icon Sizzla alongside rising superstars Eesah, Blvk H3ro & MediSun. An ode to the hardcore conscious Dancehall era of late 1990’s / early 2000’s with a modern twist.

Production is by Grammy-nominated duo Loud City in collaboration with longtime tastemaker/DJ/Producer, King I-Vier. The “Street Heat Riddim” will be a Dancehall Reggae fans favorite for many years to come.

Eesah, who’s name developed from Jamaican patwa slang, “dat badee Sah”. The meaning is an expression indicating excitement. (For example; when the riddim is nice & the verses are sweet, dat badee Sah!). Eesah has been releasing a steady stream of hits as of late, collaborating with artists including Capleton, Lutan Fyah, and Kabaka Pyramid.

lyrics

Hey
Ahhhh ahhh
Hey
Oy

You only live once
But it you do the right, once is enough
Not how long, but how well you live yeah
And turn every wound inna wisdom, yeah
Eh heh
Life is never easy
There’s work to be done
Obligation to meet obligations
Truth, justice & liberation
Ay

Watch your thoughts become words
Watch your words become actions
Watch your action turn habit
Watch your habit turn character
Cause ah it ah yuh destiny

Link up di Chief from Accompong Town
Place shake up from the Abeng sound
Dem ah push war, inna love dem drown
Nyabinghi wi use, chant dem down
Ay
Fire burn dem hot from yuh nah praise Jah
Health ah the greatest wealth, hear Sah
From you have a brain in your head, no time fi ah move like you’re dead

You only live once
But it you do the right, once is enough
Not how long, but how well you live yeah
And turn every wound inna wisdom, yeah
Eh heh
Life is never easy
There’s work to be done
Obligation to meet obligations
Truth, justice & liberation
Ay

Salvation mek yuh Madda sing song
Can’t mix I-ngel with Demon
Walk with The Most High and yuh live long
Or you will fall like di bridge over London
Ay, words can inspire you
But ah yuh action talk
So when the heathen provoke you
Ah this mi want yuh fi tell dem seh

Fire burn dem hot from yuh nah praise Jah
Health ah the greatest wealth, hear Sah
From you have a brain in your head, no time fi ah move like you’re dead

You only live once
But it you do the right, once is enough
Not how long, but how well you live yeah
And turn every wound inna wisdom, yeah
Eh heh
Life is never easy
There’s work to be done
Obligation to meet obligations
Truth, justice & liberation
Ay
